We are the owners of Not Your Average Lifestyle, creators of Beyond Average Nutrition Program, and Get Phit Studio - a boutique fitness studio in Burlington, NC.
With over 15 years of experience working with clients in and out of the gym, we've seen firsthand the deep need for genuine education in health, fitness, and weight loss. Frustrated with the misinformation and gimmicks in the fitness industry, we made it our mission to cut through the BS, especially regarding health and fitness as we age.

Both certified in nutrition, personal training, and women's health coaching, we’ve been through it all. From experimenting with fad diets and weight loss gadgets in our 20s and 30s to competing in figure and bodybuilding competitions in our early 40s, we’ve experienced the highs and lows of the fitness journey. These experiences led us to understand the importance of lasting health changes, not dictated by the scale, mirror, or pant size, but by our overall well-being and future health.
After years of failed diets and constant weight rebounds, we began prioritizing health over excuses in our early 40s. Now, after living this lifestyle for over a decade, we've witnessed profound changes in our physical health, mindset, and daily living. We’re passionate about showing others how achieving a healthy, energetic, and fun life after 50 is 100% possible.

Listen, we know aging is inevitable, but how we age is a choice. Adopting new habits and a new lifestyle must be enjoyable to be sustainable. We emphasize a balanced approach to nutrition and fitness, focusing on long-term health rather than quick fixes. Our goal is to help you feel younger, more energetic, and confident by making informed, healthy choices.
We developed our signature programs with the same tools we have used now for over a decade that will educate and empower our clients to make the necessary changes they can use to transform their health for decades to come.

We live a very active lifestyle. We have one son, two grandkids, and a puppy. Time spent with our grandkids and helping care for our aging parents is very important to us. Juggling family; along with 2 full time businesses, we understand the challenges of a busy life. But, we know that if we don’t prioritize our health and fitness, we can’t show up for all the people and activities that need us.
Both of us love to get caught up in a good book! We love to end the day with a good fiction book and the morning with a motivational read, quiet time and devotion to start the day. We LOVE to travel and explore, and always choose making memories over material things. We believe in prioritizing fun in whatever we do. After all, if new habits and a new lifestyle aren’t FUN and enjoyable, you won’t stick with them!
