Hi, It's Kat

I've spent enough years chasing diets, worrying about the scale, and trying to shrink myself.

These days, I'm more interested in staying strong.

Strong enough to lift my suitcase into the overhead bin without needing a helping hand.

Strong enough to keep up with my grandkids.

Strong enough to help my aging parents when they need me.

Strong enough to book the trip, chase the adventure, and never let my body be the reason I miss out.

For years, I thought the goal was to lose weight.

Now I know the goal is to build a body that lets me fully live my life.

Because the older I get, the less I care about being skinny and the more I care about being capable.

At 58, I'm still lifting weights, still setting goals, still learning new things, and still refusing to buy into the idea that getting older means slowing down and settling for less.

That's what Not Your Average Lifestyle is all about.

Showing women that life after 50 isn't the end of the story.

In many ways, it's just getting started.

Why Not Your Average Lifestyle?

Because average wasn't getting me where I wanted to go.

Average told me getting older meant slowing down.

Average told me that aches, pains, low energy, weight gain, and losing muscle were just part of aging.

Average told me that doing whatever it takes to get skinny automatically meant getting healthy.

Average told me to eat less, do more cardio, and accept that my best years were behind me.

I don't believe any of that.

I believe women over 50 can still build strength, maintain muscle, have energy for the people and experiences they love, and continue setting goals that excite them.

I don't want an average marriage.

I don't want an average retirement.

I don't want an average level of energy.

And I definitely don't want an average version of aging.

That's why I created Not Your Average Lifestyle.

Not because life needs to be perfect.

But because I refuse to spend the second half of my life acting like the best part is over.

Aging Strong Together

Oh, and that handsome guy you'll see around here?

That's my husband Shawn.

We've been married for 37 years, and one thing I've learned is that taking care of yourself affects so much more than your health.

It boosts your confidence, your energy, your relationships, and yes, even your sex life. When you feel strong and capable, you don't just carry yourself differently...you live differently. It changes the way you show up for the people you love and for yourself.

The best thing we've built together over the last 37 years isn't our house, our business, or even our family. It's a life we're still excited to wake up and live together every day.

And we refuse to spend the second half of our lives acting like the best part is over.

The Life We're Building

These days, life is full.

We have one son, two grandkids we absolutely adore, a dog who keeps us moving, and aging parents who need more of our time and support than they once did.

Like many people in this season of life, we're juggling a lot.

That's exactly why taking care of ourselves matters.

Not because we're trying to look 25 again.

But because we want the energy, strength, and health to show up for the people who matter most and fully participate in the life we've worked so hard to build.

When we're not working, you'll usually find us planning our next trip, spending time with family, reading a good book, getting in a workout, or finding some small adventure to say yes to.

Most mornings start with quiet time, a devotional, and a little time to reflect before the day gets busy. Faith, gratitude, and mindset have become just as important to us as exercise and nutrition.

We believe experiences are worth more than stuff.

We believe health should support your life, not consume it.

And we believe you're never too old to set a new goal, learn something new, or create an exciting new chapter.

Aging is inevitable.

Acting like the best part is over is optional.
